Waterton Lakes National Park, Alberta X Whiskey Weekend
I forget how fortunate I am to live in such a magical place. Alberta, the home of the Rocky Mountains, is one of the most beautiful places on earth (I may be a little biased on this one). Today, I had brunch with a fellow travel enthusiast I had recently met via Instagram. She said that Banff, Alberta, was on her bucket list! I often forget that it only takes one hour to drive to the mountains and venture on a hike. The Rocky Mountains is literally our backyard! Even more, Carson's family owns a cabin in Pincher Creek, Alberta, only 2-hours south-west of Calgary. The cabin is situated near Waterton Lakes National Park. The town reminds me a lot of Banff; with candy shops, restaurants, tourist offices and a beautiful hotel. The Prince of Wales Hotel is purposely placed on a hill overlooking the lake and "downtown" Waterton - but watch out for extreme winds at the top of the hill!!
Carson, Ronaldo (the pup) and I took a day trip to Waterton. Though you need to pay a small entry fee for the national park, we were fortunate enough to explore the area on Canada Day - free of charge! Along with our Canadian themed day, I wore casual Whiskey Weekend tees. Whiskey Weekend is a light-hearted, in the moment clothing line based out of Calgary, Alberta. This local brand produces witty, tongue-and-cheek casual clothing that I absolutely love! It could not have been more fitting to wear a local brand, in the National Park, on Canada Day!
